NHHA Press Releases
For Patients
Across New Hampshire, the familiar blue hospital "H" sign pops up along interstate highways and country roads. The sign is a promise that not far away is a group of people ready to heal and support anyone who walks through their doors when people need it most. Hospitals are on the front lines of community health care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The New Hampshire Hospital Association and NH's hospitals and health systems view the care and protection of patients as our chief priority and the purpose of our work. Hospitals in New Hampshire are focused to make quality health care available, affordable, and accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay.

Hospitals and their partners are working to help consumers navigate successfully through our networks of health and hospital services. This website introduces you to a portfolio of valuable consumer support services available free of charge, statewide. Connect with your community hospital to learn about additional hospital-sponsored programs that may be available to you.
FAIR & FRIENDLY BILLING
No uninsured patient should pay full retail charges for inpatient hospital care. The Hospital Access Plus Program guarantees a discount of at least 15% for medically necessary hospital services for patients without insurance. Connect with your community hospital to learn more about its policies.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
All 26 community hospitals voluntarily participate in the New Hampshire Health Access Network to provide financial help for low-income children and adults statewide. One application helps eligible state residents receive financial assistance at any hospital and hundreds of other health care providers in the state.
HOSPITAL QUALITY
Accurate and up-to-date information about how often hospitals provide the recommended care to adults being treated for specific medical conditions is available online at www.nhqualitycare.org.
INTERPRETATION SERVICES
Every hospital works to make foreign language and sign language interpreter services available for patients who need them. Connect with your community hospital in advance for information about those services. See examples of commonly used health care documents available in different languages by connecting online at: Translated Health Forms.
HEALTH DIRECTIVES
The Advance Care Planning Guide provides people with information about creating a living will and durable power of attorney for health care, which state your preferences about the medical care you want. These legal documents help families faced with making difficult decisions on behalf of a loved one.
PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE
Low income individuals may qualify for free medication through pharmaceutical manufacturers. Medication Bridge counselors at New Hampshire's hospitals help uninsured and underinsured people connect with the prescriptions they need.
