Onsite CATCH Kids Club Staff Training: 2-4 hours
For 6 - 20 participants - please notify ACROSS NH if you have a larger group to accommodate. When coordinating training, specify number of participants, preferred date, length, and start time.

CATCH Kids Club (CKC) Training orients participants to the CKC Program, blending a variety of interactive techniques that both teach and demonstrate strategies for effective implementation. Participants utilize CKC materials, actively participate in activities, and subsequently use this framework to strategically plan how their programs can better guide youth in the process of being physically active for a lifetime.

2-hour training involves a discussion of the current childhood obesity epidemic environment, and how to create a healthy environment for the students in your program, followed by a 30-minute activity demonstration. We continue with learning how to navigate the yellow box (curriculum) and break into small groups to learn and teach additional games.

3-hour training involves a discussion of the current childhood obesity epidemic environment, and how to create a healthy environment for the students in your program, followed by a 30-minute activity demonstration. We continue with learning how to navigate the yellow box (curriculum) and how to create a classroom routine. A second activity block is included as we break into small groups to learn and teach additional games.

Onsite CATCH Kids Club Booster Training: 1 hour

A Booster training for CATCH Kids Club is designed to rejuvenate your staff that has already gone through the initial CKC training, but could use a jump-start to get the curriculum moving again. Booster trainings can be 1-2 hours in length. Topics include learning sport-specific games like kickball, soccer, basketball, or specific needs for your site like small-space games or lesson / routine planning.

*Site must have the CKC Yellow Box Curriculum - Available through Flaghouse

Room set-up

The CKC training is active, and we will be moving!

  • The best set-up is an area where we can sit for discussion, and an area for play and movement.  For example, a gym with some tables set up in a corner for everyone to sit at. A classroom in combination with walking to a gym or cafeteria is great too.
  • If you have a screen and projector available, we can add-in the powerpoint slides for a more visually effective training. Please notify your trainer if you have this equipment.
  • Notify your trainer if you do not have this kind of a set-up available.
  • Your trainer will arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your start time to set up.
  • Your trainer will bring all equipment and paperwork.

What participants should bring:

  1. Please make sure you come prepared to participate in physical activities! PLEASE wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes (NO boots, flip flops, or heals please).
  2. A pen. You will be provided with handouts with space to take notes.
  3. Your yellow CATCH Kids Club Activity Box.
  4. Water - we will be moving!

As part of the training you will receive:

  • Training participant manuals - download here
  • CKC training completion certificates will be electronically provided through the Registry
