NH Health Care Quality Assurance Commission
The New Hampshire Health Care Quality Assurance Commission was established in
August 2005 with the passage of HB-514 by the state legislature. The charge of
the Commission is to review and analyze quality of care and patient safety
issues in hospitals and freestanding ambulatory surgery centers. The membership
includes a representative from each organization. Stephanie Wolf-Rosenblum, MD,
Vice President Medical Affairs of Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, chairs
the Commission and Rachel Rowe, Associate Executive Director with the Foundation
for Healthy Communities, acts as administrator.
The major priorities of the Commission for 2007-2008 are:
• Continued collection of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia and Central Line
Bloodstream Infection rates
• Statewide hand hygiene initiative:
"High Five
for a Healthy NH"
• Safe transfer of patients between facilities
• Continued sharing of best practices, stories, and discussion of how
organizations can foster a more ‘just culture’.
