What is the New Hampshire Health Access Network?

The New Hampshire Health Access Network is a voluntary effort by health care providers to improve access to health care for low-income children and adults statewide. NHHAN is not an insurance program but rather, a discount program based on the applicant household's income and assets.

Who does the Network help?

The Network helps low-income people in New Hampshire who do not have health insurance or do not have enough money to pay for hospital care, doctor visits or other medical care.

How can I find out if I am eligible?

Complete the application found on this website.  Be sure to include the documents listed on the cover letter.  Mail the completed application and required documents to the Financial Assistance Department at the hospital of your choice.  If you already have a primary care provider, mail the application to the hospital with which your primary care provider is affiliated.

Do I need to apply for NHHAN at each medical facility I use?

You only need to apply at one hospital.  If eligible, each member of the household will receive a NHHAN card that can be used throughout the state at all of the NHHAN participating members.  The card is good for six months at a time (twelve months if you are on a fixed income), after which time you can re-apply if you still have a need.
