The
second Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) ED'ie
award will be given this
year to a school in New Hampshire that is outstanding in creating an
environment that supports healthy eating and physical activity
opportunities and is achieving positive results for students and staff.
Last year, HEAL
NH awarded the first 'ED'ie to Thorntons Ferry Elementary in
the Merrimack School District in Merrimack, NH. The health of students
is important to schools and a growing body of research indicates a
positive association between school-based physical activity and academic
performance.
